Did You Say Medicated Cotton Candy ?

Did you say medicated cotton candy ?!?!  As my nickname holds of #TheRealSugarMomma - you know I was, as us Vegas peeps say, - ALL IN! Being in the candy business and in another classification as the "medical candy business", I ALWAYS have to ask individuals what their favorite sweet is.  Mainly just to see where others taste buds like to go and my old time classic fave is most definitely COTTON CANDY!

Cotton Candy's origin is claimed by many, sources trace a form of spun sugar between the 15th and 19th century Europe.  At that time, this "spun sugar" was expensive and not available to the average Joe.

Now here's the #FunFact , the machine-spun cotton candy was invented in 1897 by confectioner John C. Wharton and DENTIST William Morrison.  (that's right, a dentist and a confectioner lol) They first introduced it to a wide audience at the 1904 Wold's Fair as "Fairy Floss" and had great success! Later in 1921, Joseph Lascaux, a dentist from New Orleans Louisiana, invented a similar "spun sugar" machine and patent the sweet confection as "cotton candy".  In the 1970's an automated machine was created to aid in the product and packaging making "cotton candy" easier to produce and available to sell at fairs, carnivals, and local candy stores from 1970's to present day.

Cotton Candy is also known as "fairy floss"(Australia) , "candy floss" (South Africa, UK and New Zealand).  It is made by heating and liquifying sugar and spinning it out through minute holes as it re-solidifies in minutely thin strands of "sugar glass". This sugar spun delight contains mostly air with a dash of desired flavor and food coloring, with a typical serving weighing out at approximately 30 grams or 1 ounce.

In October 2017, I was booked at a fabulous all-lady, or should I say all-goddess event at the +Ganja Goddess Getaway to teach my Dosing Class to over 150+ women.  It was there that I was happily introduced to BEdibles Medicated Cotton Candy !  Oh my did my nostalgia kick in at full force! (:
